CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders, and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.
Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed our workouts posted daily on this site and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms, and homes.

Why CrossFit Talon?
We define fitness differently than your typical “Globo-gym”. Our definition of fitness is the ability to perform at any and all physical tasks, even unknown tasks, and encompasses all 10 domains of Fitness (Cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, & accuracy).
*Fitness is not defined inside the walls of a gym; it is defined each and every day by your ability to deal with the challenges of life. Our life is full of movement. Like our ancestors, our bodies are designed to stand, sit, squat, throw, lift, push, pull, climb, run, and of course, jump. These natural, primal, movements are the basis of the exercises included in our training. By training with CrossFit Talon, we are “reconditioning” your bodies to function in a manner that they were designed. We intentionally blur the line between strength training and cardio training, just as nature does.
*Our training is very efficient, improving on the 10 domains of fitness within each workout.
At CrossFit Talon, all sessions are under the guidance of a CrossFit Certified Trainer, approximately 1 hour and consist of a dynamic warm-up, strength/skill development, WOD (workout of the day) and cool-down giving you a comprehensive full-body workout in under an hour. The instructor-led and peer-driven classes provide an excellent mixture of individual coaching and group motivation. The WOD’s are constantly varied and unique, combining pushups, pull-ups, sit-ups with gymnastics, power & Olympic Lifts, kettlebells, jumping and running. Some workouts are done for time and others for maximum reps, these constantly varied WOD’s allow for endless possibilities with the end result being you working hard and never getting bored. The people who train at CrossFit Talon have a wide variety of fitness levels, backgrounds and abilities. How to get started?
It is simple: Call us to let us know you are interested in our classes and then join us. Your first introductory session is free and we will briefly discuss the CrossFit principles, guided you through the warm-up and then put you through a scaled down workout. If you determine that CrossFit is for you, and it’s not for everyone, we will then enroll you in our Foundations class. During these 6 classes you will gain strength, a base line of General Physical Preparedness and become gradually acquainted with the level of intensity of our sessions. These classes will also consist of instruction and practice of the 9 foundational movements that you will utilize often at CrossFit Talon. These movements are the building blocks that you will master enabling you to complete workouts with power, technique and intensity.
The 9 foundational movements are:
Air Squat | Front Squat | Overhead Squat | Shoulder Press | Push Press | Push Jerk | Deadlift | Sumo Deadlift High Pull | Medicine Ball Clean
In addition to the 9 foundational movements, we will teach you push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, box jumps and jumping rope, and their scaled versions. By using these scaled versions you learn and master the technique, develop the range of motion, and build the strength needed to progress to the full movement or exercise. As you progress, we will instruction and incorporate movements that progress from the 9 foundational movements, such as kettlebell swings, dumbbells, wall ball throws, thruster, barbell clean, barbell snatch, jumping rope, and more.
Once you have completed the foundation sessions, you will be allowed to join our regular classes. Exceptions will be made for experienced CrossFitters or individuals’ with a strength & conditioning background but we have found that all levels of athletes and non-athletes benefit from a gradual introduction that gets participants comfortable with the fundamentals before ramping up the intensity. This is useful in ensuring your safety. CrossFit Talon coaches will help you with this decision.
