Survival of the Fittest

This past weekend, 8/20/11, Team CF Talon competed at the S.O.T.F. and had a successful and enjoyable day. With four Newbies to the sport, our group finished with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th place victories in the Male Scaled division, 2nd place in the Female Scaled division and 9th in the Masters division.
Team CF Talon and the athletes continue to impress with their determination and perseverance, lifting, pulling, pushing and squatting to the bitter end. S.O.T.F. event was structured very different then past events in that you were placed in a 1 v. 1 bracket system; 3-2-1 go and it is you against an adversary and friend. The two athletes would come forward and draw a WOD from the bucket with all the WOD’s varying from Fran, Randy to Swimming, Stand up Paddle Board and even a Rock Wall Climb. Winner moves on, Loser goes in the lose bracket. WOD’s were between 2-5 min long and after three losses, and you were out.
There were many incredible feats that occurred this weekend, from all the Beginners (Newbies) competing at their first event, the physically challenged demonstrating the meaning of “No Excuses” to the Big Dogs moving heavy things very quickly. Every athlete competing gave their all and just like before, each athlete constantly demonstrated the true definition of Sportsmanship with handshakes or fist bumps before the WOD and congratulatory handshakes, fist bumps or pats on the back for being a true competitor at the end.
