Suzie Pettey, aka:”Intern 4”
Suzie’s introduction to CrossFit was in the summer of 2009 while rehabilitating an ACL injury with us. A soccer player first, she quickly discovered the “magic in the movements” making her a player to be reckoned with on the field. While a member of the HFC ’93 Girls Black and Page H.S. team she has earned herself a scholarship to the University of St. Francis, outside of Chicago, IL.
As one of Team Talons fire-breather’s, Suzie first hand experience in comeptition was at the Faction Games 2010, placing fifth as one of the youngest, age 17, competitors. Since becoming “Intern 4”, she has inspired a number of our young female athlete’s by her commitment, dedication and discipline to improve herself as an athlete and young lady.
Suzie had an impressive showing during the 2011 CrossFit Open Sectionals in the Central East Region placing 27th out of over 350 females in a 5 state region. During the 2011 CrossFit Regionals in Columbus OH, Suzie was the youngest athlete competing at 18 yrs of age. She further impressed her family, friends and teammates with her strength and determination finishing 20th overall.
